The natural home of the giant panda is China, and it is the only place they would survive. The Himalayan ranges of India are the next best habitat of the panda. The giant panda is very close to extinction and it is mostly found in the provinces of Gansu and Shaanxi of China. However, unfortunately, these provinces are also the most populated places in China. There is extensive farming which caused the pandas to retreat deeper and they may not find the environment suitable for their survival.
The pandas are vegetarian animals and mostly eat bamboo and leaves. The Sichuan area is very unique in China because some of the rarest of animals were found here, but they have become extinct. Sichuan is the most favorable place for the panda as a habitat because it can find its ideal food here. The province of Sichuan was mostly covered with a red basin and evergreen forests.
The panda’s home is the mountains of Shiaanxu, Gansu and Sichuan. The pandas have to live where there is ample snow because anywhere else they would feel hot and will not survive. The pandas, unlike any other animal, are used to extreme cold temperatures only. In China, the mountains follow a unique sloped pattern which suits the panda’s habitat. It is just like a multi-storied hotel basically.Today, in the wild there are less than one thousand pandas alive. Extreme efforts are being taken by conservation lists but there is no guarantee that this magnificent animal would see the end of the century.
