What Are Pandas Enemies ?

As an adult, the panda has very few enemies. It is the size of an American bear. It can measure up to four feet when it stands. The panda is black and white color, and it mostly lives in high elevations. The panda can survive in rainforests at an elevation of five or even ten thousand feet.

The biggest enemies of the giant panda are a human being. One of the enemies of the panda is the snow leopard. However, the panda, because of its size, gets the better of the leopard. It is a very strong and fierce animal. Even if humans venture too close to the animal, it can easily attack them.

Baby pandas are more susceptible to enemies like eagles and vultures. If these animals spot a baby panda, they can easily carry it away. However, the mother panda is extremely protective about its young ones. An adult female panda will have only one or two cubs in a year. The bamboo rat which is fairly big in size can also carry the baby panda away. However, the giant panda has been killed less by its own enemies and more by human beings. Also, the loss of habitat and clearing of bamboo forests harms the panda in several ways. The giant pandas have dies because of the loss of habitat mainly. There are less than thousand pandas left in the wild in China. There are a few hundreds of them in the Himalayan ranges. Today the panda is an endangered species of animal.
