Lionfish us known to eat any crustacean or any fish that comes its way and that can be caught by this fish. It then remains out till daytime. After this when sun comes over, they start retreating to their homes which are among the rocks, corals and overhangs.

Lionfish is known to capture its prey with the help of their fins which are extremely large. They then make use of the lightning gulp in order to swallow the prey as a whole this attack seems similar to that done by a frogfish. Their splayed large fins then shield the whole movement of the causal fin in order to make sure that their prey is not alarmed.
