Where Do Sharks Live ?

Sharks as everybody knows are found in various different oceans of the world. But several studies have claimed that around 70 percent of the overall oceans throughout the world are entirely free from these sharks. These are known to be non territorial and, thus, they are probable to change their habitat quite often. Female sharks too do not stay not even to take care of their eggs. The offsprings are capable enough to take care of themselves right from their birth.

Sharks have been existent for last 450 million years on an average just because of the fact that they are quite good in adapting to the changing environmental conditions and surroundings. They can, thus, easily move to different places in search of food if they are required to do so. Regardless of the fact that these sharks are cold blooded fish, they tend to be found in warm, temperate or cold waters.

There are some shark species that prefer living in cold waters while others stay in warmer waters. They can be found in all seas as they generally do not live in freshwaters, except the bull shark as well as the river shark that is capable of surviving in both kinds of water. Most of the species of shark are found in oceans, while some are also found in freshwater bodies as the ones mentioned above. In some cases, they have also been found living in some unusual freshwater bodies but this happens when their habitat gets destructed due to some human activities.
