What Did Babe Ruth Look Like ?
Babe Ruth, as the famous baseball player was known to the world, was actually christened George Herman Ruth, Jr. when he was born on 6 February 1895. But, few people know this. Nonetheless, Babe Ruth ruled the world of MLB right from 1914 until 1935.
He started out his pro career with the Boston Red Sox where he was the starting pitcher. Then, in the year 1919, the Red Sox sold him to the New York Yankees where he became the right fielder. Thereafter, he became one of the hardest hitting players in the MLB and he was instrumental in the Yankees winning 4 World Series and 7 pennants. He played for a short while for the Boston Braves and then retired from the game.
He was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in the year 1936 when it was first introduced.
A lot has been discussed about Babe Ruth's looks. Some believe that due to his features, he may have had African-American ancestry. There have been stories circulating, but no DNA tests have been conducted on Babe Ruth's remains to confirm his ancestry. However, there is no evidence to support this claim, and hence, it is not considered authentic. Babe Ruth had a roundish face that make across as being chubby. He had slightly protruding ears and the nose was broad but flat at the bridge. This meant that he ended up with rather large looking nostrils. His body frame was also not athletic like present-day athletes, but he packed a punch when striking the ball.
