Fidel Castro, an ultimate leader of Cuba, was born on 13 August 1926 in the eastern Cuba. In his early days he attended Catholic schools and was highly influenced by the Spanish priests who made him learn qualities like dedication, discipline and assertiveness. Fidel Castro, the leader of Cuba was always interested in politics and wanted to be a vital part of it but due to some or the other reason he failed. Though he had contested parliamentary elections in the year 1952, but the cancellation of these elections shattered all his dreams. He still did not lose hope and opposed the ruling government because of its authoritarian approach towards people.

This Cuban leader started off with his political career during his college days. He became the first president of the Law Student Association of his University in the year 1945. This was the time when he actually got involved in politics for the very first time. As mentioned earlier, he tried contesting the elections in 1952 but due to its cancellations could not attain the power he wished for. Batista, the then leader was strongly opposed by Castro. Fidel Castro was born in Cuba on 13th August 1926. His father was basically an immigrant from Spain and had become a plantation owner by the time Fidel was born. When he was young, Castro worked at his family’s fields of sugar cane and convinced his family to send him to school when he was 6 years old.

He was a part of two Jesuit organizations; one of these was the Colegio LaSalle, and the other one the Colegio Dolores. Both of them were located in Santiago.
