Queen Elizabeth I was born on 25 January, 1533 to King Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Later in the year 1536, on 2 May, her mother was arrested for adultery and treason. She was later executed on 19 May 1536.
Soon after that, Henry VIII got betrothed to Jane Seymour and married her on 30 May 1536. However, her life was very short as she died soon after the birth of her son on 12 October 1537. The same year Elizabeth was declared an illegitimate child. In 1540, King Henry got married to 19 year old Catherine Howard, who was also later executed for adultery. On 12 July 1543 King Henry got married to Katherine Parr. On 28 January 1547 King Henry died, and Edward VI became the new king. Elizabeth I started staying with Katherine Parr and her husband Thomas Seymour. But when there were rumors of her affair with Thomas Seymour, which her to leave Katherine Parr’s house.
On 6 July 1553, King Henry VI died of tuberculosis and left the throne to Lady Jane and her male heirs. Though Lady Jane was made the Queen of England, she was later dethroned by Queen Mary, who later died on November 17, 1553. The same day Elizabeth I was made the Queen.
On November 7, 1581 a marriage treaty was signed between The Duke of Anjou and Queen Elizabeth I. In 1600, Queen Elizabeth granted charter to East India Company and also introduced the Elizabethan Poor Law where parish registers for poor were introduced.
On March 24, 1603 Elizabeth I died of blood poisoning.
