Frozen Pina Colada Recipe

Frozen Pina Colada is an alcoholic drink with a delicious taste of pineapple and coconut. You can easily prepare this beverage at home instead of spending money to have it in a bar.

For preparing the Pina Colada, two ounces of dark rum is required. Half of the cup filled with pineapple cubes is also one of the main ingredients. Instead of pineapple cubes, two ounces of pineapple juice will also do. One and a half ounces of coconut cream is also required. Maraschino cherry and a pineapple wedge are needed for garnish.

Pina Colada is prepared by mixing all the ingredients with 2 cups of ice. The ice tends to freeze up the drink partially, and hence the name frozen Pina Colada. Pour the mixture into a pre-chilled glass and then top it up with a Maraschino cherry and stick a fresh wedge of pineapple to the edge of the glass.

Another method to make frozen Pina Colada is as follows:

For this, you need around 1.5 ounces of Malibu rum, 1 ounce of dark rum, 3 ounces of pineapple juice and 5-6 ice cubes are shaken together in a mixing glass. When the ice cubes melt completely and the foam turns complete white, the mixture is then frozen before being served in a glass with Maraschino cherry and a pineapple wedge.

This drink is not only sweet, but also strong in terms of alcohol. This is the reason the drink is very popular.

You can make frozen Pina Colada without alcohol. Here, instead of being called a cocktail, it is referred to as a mocktail.
