How To Write A Eulogy For My Father ?

Losing a parent is never easy. If you have just lost your father, you will be in a state of shock and grief. Most of us never think that it would be possible to lose a parent, but when it happens, it is always a shock. And, if you did not have a chance to say goodbye to your father before he died, you will feel even worse.

One of the best ways to cope with the loss of a father is by writing a eulogy that you can present at his funeral. It will also be a way of saying goodbye to your father. The eulogy will be a testament of the great person and father that he was and how much you loved him.

However, writing a eulogy for a father is never easy. You will find it difficult to put down the words and will be overcome with emotions. But that is why it is important for a person to know how to write a eulogy for a father when the person is not grieving. So, when you dad actually passes away, you will be able to sit down and write a heartfelt eulogy honoring him and his memory.

The eulogy is present with the idea of commemorating the deceased person's life. Hence, it should contain a condensed history of your father's life; his achievements; some of your favorite memories; the unique and special qualities of your father that made him a special man and father; and possibly a poem or scriptures that highlight your feelings or give an insight into your father's nature. Make sure that you actually sit down and write the eulogy. Never attempt to give an impromptu eulogy as you will be too overcome by grief and emotions to make a coherent speech.

Spend time drafting the eulogy and then revising it until you are satisfied. It does not have to be perfect. It should inform the people in attendance what a wonderful man your father was, how much you love, how he inspired and stood by you through thick and thin; and how you are grateful to have him as a father.

It is perfectly okay to carry the eulogy typed out on paper and read from it. The fact that it was written from the heart will give it all the emotions it needs. Also, your feeling of grief and pain will have an impact on the eulogy. Use the eulogy to bid farewell to your father in your own way.
