Palmistry Basics

The art of palmistry originated many decades ago in India. Over the years, it has grown to become highly popular in various parts of the world. The knowledge of palmistry can provide loads of information about the individual’s personality and life events. However, immense practice is required to master this art. There are certain basic principles that govern this art. The primary aspect is to understand which hand needs to be studied or analyzed.

Palmistry labels the two hands of a person as active and passive, wherein the former is the hand that one commonly uses to carry out the various functions. While the passive hand indicates all the characteristics that one is born with, the active hand reflects the alterations made by the person himself or herself. The structure of the hand, which is primarily the shape as well as the size of the palm and fingers, and the suppleness of the thumb are also considered in the reading process.

The lines on the hand form the fundamental aspect of palm reading. While there are several lines on the palm; the main lines that the palmist generally focuses on include the life line, the fate line, the head line and the marriage line. A life line may not be able to predict the age of a person but can certainly give a fair idea about the individual’s health and other key landmarks in life. The fate line, illustrating one’s fortune is present vertically close to the life line.

However, it is not mandatory that every individual’s hand will showcase this line. As the names suggest, the head line and marriage line reflect important features of one’s mental faculty and marital life. At the base of all the fingers and thumb are present the various mounts that play a very vital role in drawing the right conclusions in this study. Starting from the thumb, in an anti-clockwise pattern are present the mounts of Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Apollo and Mercury respectively.
