The exotic fruit rambutan has high content of sugar, but it still does not have high calories. Each fruit has around 60 calories. The skin of the fruit contains a compound known as gallic acid. This acid helps to destroy free radicals in the cells and prevents the body from oxidative damage. In addition, gallic acid is a potent anti-carcinogenic. The belief that the antioxidants present in the skin is so useful, that you can get packed rambutan peel extract as a supplement in many health stores.

Some of the nutrients present in rambutan include Vitamin C, Vitamin A, potassium, manganese, zinc, magnesium, calcium, fiber, phosphorus, and protein.
