The main components for the proper working of the chainsaw include chain, sprockets, bar as well as motor. The chain is looped firmly in the bar that fits into the sprocket. If proper lubrication is not done, the parts get worn out soon as the chainsaw generates lot of heat while you operate.
If the chainsaw does not start properly, then there is a high chance of some problem in the air compression. The other problems may be due to spark generation or shortage of fuel. Once you identify the problem, then you can conclude as to which of the parts is not functioning properly in your chainsaw.
To check the air compression, you need to pull the starter cord. If the compression is proper, then the engine will make a chugging or a whirring noise. Now place the saw down and keep you right foot on the handle of the throttle. Placing one hand on top of the chainsaw’s body, pull the starter chord again. If you find it too difficult or too easy pull, this indicates that there is a problem with the air compression that prevents it from starting.
Check out whether the cord is broken or frayed by opening the side cover of the chainsaw using a screwdriver. Ensure that you wear heavy-duty gloves while you work on this tool. Otherwise, you may end up in severe hand injuries. Take off the spark-plug while you repair lest it suddenly starts running while experimenting with the tool.
