Life Cycle Bean Plant

Life Cycle Bean Plant

Bean plant was one among those wild plants that were successfully cultivated by the natives of South America. A bean can be recognized as a big seed that is the part of Fabaceae or legume family. The other prominent members of the same family are the peas and the pulses. Some other common types of beans are soybean, lentils, kidney bean and the most common bean. This family has been considered as the fastest growing in the entire plant kingdom.

Beans begin germination at a faster pace. Once the bean seed has shown sprouts, it takes around one week to for the plant to grow. When it is sown in a soil, the hypocotyl manages to grow out and reach the surface of the soil. At this point the hypocotyls is exposed to the sun, and phototropism begins. The hypocotyls, which is bent at this point, begins to straighten up when phototropism starts. The seedling of the bean takes almost six weeks to reach this stage. If you notice carefully, you can see the plant shooting up out of the soil within this time period. When this stage nears the end, the plant initiates its next stage of reproduction. More...
