Beets have always been a vegetable most of us stay away from, but did you know the amount of vitamins that are present in beets? Beets also contain beta-carotene, calcium, folate, iron, magnesium, manganese, and potassium. Beets are a good source of anthocyanins, which help in the protection and repair of the DNA of your body. And, beets also have a high content of fiber and carbohydrates. For people who have a deficiency in magnesium, which can lead to heart ailments, beets are a very good source of the supplement.
