Recipe For Peppermint Syrup
Peppermint syrup is very valuable and useful. You can use it for flavoring while making chocolates, in drinks, and also use it in cakes. It is also used for flavoring ice creams. Here is a simple and easy recipe for preparing peppermint syrup.
You need the following ingredients to make peppermint syrup:
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons peppermint extract
Keep a saucepan handy and mix all the above ingredients, and see that the sugar dissolves completely. Put the saucepan on the stove and heat it. Cook on medium heat and keep stirring until the sugar granules disappear completely. The syrup will start boiling and also thicken a bit. Switch of the stove at this point. Stir the extract once again and leave it to cool at room temperature. Store the syrup in an air tight container. You can keep the syrup refrigerated later for nearly a month.
You can use the syrup to make mint-based drinks. You can take lemonade with a bit of mint flavor added to it to make a great and refreshing drink. The same can be done with coconut water also. You can make your own liquor combinations and add mint syrup to your drinks. You can use the syrup in cakes and ice creams or pudding.
