A lawsuit of any kind is usually very expensive to deal with. Whether the plaintiff is hoping for a huge settlement or not they ill have to spend a considerable amount of money in lawsuits. The costs involved are administration, paperwork, the bailiff, the jurors and the courthouse charges. Frivolous lawsuits are the ones that are filed without a valid reason to sue. That means leally there could be a reason enough to sue, but the same thing could have been worked out without the involvement of court.

However, since the person wants a settlement people come up with all kid soft legal reasons to sue the other party. These types of lawsuits are called frivolous law suits. Especially big names in corporate, huge business houses and very rich people are susceptible for frivolous lawsuits that can be filed by anybody and everybody.

As per the Secretary of Commerce of the United States, a frivolous lawsuit is a pointless law suit and they costs the US economy approximately $250 billion a year. What people pay towards the fees hardly amount to anything and it could be $800 per person. The respective state covers many more costs and spends a lot in hearing the case and so on. For a single case several people are involved right from the judge to the bailiff to the cops and lawyers and so many more. All these people have to be paid for spending their time in the case the investigators have to be paid too.
