Body piercing is an art and in the current day world it is more for fashion that people do it. While there is a distinct style and form for piercing it does have its risks. When any part of the body is pierced a foreign body is going into the skin and the blood stream. People pierce their body at different places.

Usually some of the most common places to pierce the body are in the ear and nose. In general, the ear and nose just have membranes, and there is hardly any blood flow here. It does not hurt much either to pierce these parts either. However, some people pierce their eye brows and eye lids. These are extremely dangerous as it is highly possible that they can cause permanent injury to their eye if the piercing goes wrong. Also, some people pierce their navel and the danger is that if an infection starts at the spot of piercing, then it can spread deep into the navel and other parts of the body.

Also, if the person who is performing the piercing does not change the needles, then there is a danger of contracting unwanted diseases like AIDS through piercing. In addition, you can also get some other form of diseases spread through contact.

Before piercing any part of the body, one should insure the method of piercing and make sure that it is safe for them. The needles have to be changed and the piercing equipment has to be sterilized first. It is always better to get the part of the body pierced surgically through a doctor.
