In the beginning, one may experience only heat cramps, and they develop within the muscles.  If a person exercises when it is very hot, these cramps can occur. The cramps are mainly felt in the legs, arms and torso.

Symptoms that occur after the cramps are considered to be signs of heat exhaustion. These are some of the symptoms that occur before a heat stroke:

  • Pale looking skin
  • Severe form of headaches

If a person is experiencing heat exhaustion, then with immediate effect he needs to stop all his activities. The person should get away from the sun and start cooling off immediately. A person should concentrate on cooling off as soon as he notices the first symptom. Also, heat exhaustion, if ignored, can progress very quickly into a heat stroke. When this happens sweating may stop, but the person’s body temperature can go very high. Only when the temperature goes high, it is a danger signal and should be treated as a stroke.
