After Effects Of Left Brain Ischemic Stroke

An ischemic stroke is a type condition that is caused when the oxygen and blood supply to the brain is stopped or interrupted. This could occur due to the blood clots. Aneurysms can also be a reason and usually an ischemic stroke is treated as an emergency. An ischemic stroke is the most common type of stroke and nearly 80 percent of all the strokes that occur in a year are ischemic.

The physical damage in a person mainly depends on the area of the brain that is affected due to a stroke. If the left brain is affected due to the stroke, then the after effects of it can be clearly noticed on the parts that it controls.

One can easily identify a left brain ischemic stroke as it affects the limbs and the physical movement of the body’s right side. A person may suffer a paralytic stroke on the right side for example. This is a classic example of a left brain ischemic stroke.

Even vision tends to get affected due to the stroke and people may become blind in their right eye after the stroke.

If a person is left handed, they can have problems with logical and reasoning abilities after the stroke. They may never be able to think clearly after that.

In a normal right handed person a left brained ischemic stroke can cause problems with speech as an aftermath.

However, the symptom of ischemic stroke is very similar to any other stroke and they are nausea, stiffness, dizziness and head aches. Severe symptoms include seizures, unconsciousness and vomiting.
