There has been a lot of research on the subject, but yet very little achievement. It is quite difficult to understand the perplexing situation of a schizophrenic patient.

Doctors can at times stabilize the condition of a schizophrenic patient. There are several drugs that can control the effects of the condition. Also, group therapy seems to have lasting effects on the condition. There are different types of schizophrenia.

Paranoid schizophrenia is a type where a person goes through hallucinations where they have audio and visual experiences of things that do not exist. They seem rather delusional. However, a schizophrenic person can be extremely intelligent, social, and there is no bearing on their ability to work.

Disorganized schizophrenia is the type in which a person goes through disorderly thinking patterns. They will have difficulty in performing normal tasks like brushing their teeth or bathing for example.

Catatonic schizophrenia is a condition where a person experiences mood swings from being extremely depressed to over excited. It may also show in their body movements. In addition, the person may have strange contortions of the face and weird body positions which can often scare the people around him or her.

Undifferentiated schizophrenia is a silent one where the patient shows no signs of the condition. The doctor also cannot diagnose it because the patient can confuse the doctor by shifting personalities.

Residual schizophrenia is a condition where the patient exhibits partial symptoms and it is very mild in them.
