Jump rope is fast gaining popularity as a sport which helps in reducing fat in the body and also aids in toning the muscles. If you thought that jump rope is a fun exercise but it gets monotonous, then do not fret. There can be many ways to do this exercise such as jogging step, reverse basic jump, the twist and criss-cross.
One of the different and easiest ways to jump rope is jump alternatively with the right and the left legs, like you would go jogging. Though you would bring the rope from back to front, like normal jumping, here you would jump with only one leg at a time and not both the legs. While jumping rope regularly you would get the rope from back to front, but in case of reverse basic step you do exactly the opposite. This means that instead of holding the rope behind you, you would hold in front of you and when you jump, it will go behind.
Another way of doing this exercise is the criss-cross jump. In this case, swing the rope over your head and cross your forearms. By doing this, you get your right hand over your left leg and vice versa. When the rope goes back over your head again, you uncross your forearms.
Lastly, you can also try the twist jump where you twist while you jump. For one jump you twist your hips to the right and for the next one twist it to the left.
While jump rope sounds simple, it is not the case. But, there are many easy as well as a little difficult ways of doing this extremely invigorating exercise.
