Anti Gravity Yoga

Anti gravity yoga is a kind of exercise that makes your body more agile, and keeps you physically fit. It is also fun and creative way of exercising.

Anti gravity yoga, unlike any other kind of yoga, is a fast paced and action-based exercise. It involves acrobatics and also usage of several props. It can be compared to the techniques that are used by gymnasts and athletes.

It is called anti gravity as it involves a lot of jumping and staying up in the air. Sometimes swings and hammocks are used for the exercises. Obviously the equipment used for this type of yoga would have to be purchased.

There are several yogic exercises that can be performed in the air. However, you would need a support of the swing or hammock in order to perform them. We see many yoga experts performing meditation under water or in mid air. These are also considered as anti gravity yoga as the meditation defies gravity. When a person is dangled in the air, the breathing pattern is much different as compared to standing or sitting poses. However, in order to perform the anti gravity yoga one has to be formally trained and cannot do it on their own.

There are many institutes in the United States that teach anti gravity yoga. However, this kind of yoga is not recommended for people who are pregnant and also the light hearted or aged ones. Agility is very important for a person in order to be able to perform these yoga exercises.
