Some of the common postures of Hatha yoga are Surya Asana or the sun posture. This technique or posture is used to worship the sun as well as absorb the positive energy from the sun. According to Hindu principles, the sun is the purest form of energy and the human body derives all its energy from there. This is one of the most important postures to cleanse and purify your body.

Another posture which requires standing on your head literally in an upside down position is also very important part of Hatha yoga. This increases the blood circulation for the brain and helps to enhance its functioning. When you stand upside down on your head, there is an increased blood flow to the brain and also the air circulation is in the reverse order. This also helps to purify your body and internal organs.

Another common posture of Hatha yoga is the tree posture where you are required to stand in a position of a tree with your arms wide apart. This increases the blood circulation and helps to attain a better posture and balance of the body.
