|Pain In Lower Abdomen By Hip
Abdominal pain is the pain that is felt in the abdominal area which is the area between the chest and groin, often referred as the stomach or belly. Though one feels the pain in the abdomen, it may originate from various origins like the chest, pelvic area or a generalized infection affecting many parts of the body.
When pain arises in the lower right region of the abdomen, it may be the signs of appendicitis. Serious abdominal problems like appendicitis are caused when there is an inflammation and infection of the appendix. Removing the appendix is safe and the scar heals in about three weeks.
Pain in the upper region of the abdomen may be caused due to stomach or duodenum disease. Pain at the rim of the lower abdomen and lower back may be caused by kidney stones.
Abdominal pain is caused by inflammation, like appendicitis, diverticulitis or colitis; by stretching or distention of an organ, like in the case of obstruction of the intestine, blockage of a bile duct by gallstones, swelling of the liver with hepatitis; or by loss of supply of blood to an organ. However, to complicate matters, abdominal pain can also occur without inflammation, distention or loss of blood supply, like in the case of irritable bowel syndrome. It is not always clear what causes the pain, but it is believed to be either because of abnormal contractions of the intestinal muscles or abnormally sensitive nerves within the intestines that give rise to painful sensations.
