Add lights that are error inspired. Fix a chandelier, whose design is inspired by that time period. So, think about having a chandelier that has the ability to hold candles rather than light bulbs. Also, remember, that the size of the chandelier should be in proportion to the size of the room.

Add box beams to the ceiling. In the mid-18th century, having ceiling beams that were exposed were a common feature in colonial homes. You can make use of these beams in your house.

Colonial houses became very popular due to the extra living space they provided. If you want to reconstruct an older colonial house, it can be a challenging task to find extra space to add bathroom. However, you can think about converting an extra bedroom into a luxury bathroom if you do not need that bedroom.
