Examples Of Eulogies

A eulogy is a passage or a poem that is written in memory of the dead and in order to say thanks to them. A popular writer called Henry James once said, that sorrow tends to come in the form of great waves. However, these waves roll over the people. While the waves of sorrow may smother, people who are grieving know that they can withstand the onslaught as they are stronger. So, the waves pass by and the people remain.

Use sentences like these to write a eulogy and slowly start reflecting on the person you have lost with respect to the sentence you started with. Remember that when you are reading out your eulogy the tone and voice should be perfect. You have the attention of the whole hall at you and you need to be confident. You are not standing there to make a good impression but add value to the person who just died. So, every word you speak should be sensible and respect the sensitivity of the occasion. It is okay to have a bit of humor without hurting anyone’s feelings.

No matter whom the eulogy is about, it could be about your grandfather, grand mother, a parent or sibling, you can always start with using quotes of famous people. Any person who died would not have wished that you focus on their death. They would prefer that you concentrate instead on the good times you had together. Death is not a cheerful moment and it is full of grief. However, the person who died would have definitely wanted you to remember the good times you had together and that is exactly what you should talk about in a eulogy.
