The retirement letter should be concise, to the point and should have a cordial tone. The letter must be properly formatted. The main body of the letter should be divided into paragraphs and each paragraph should focus on specific information. The letter must include the following information:

- Years of service
- Official date of retirement
- Admitting that all employer assets have been returned
- A forwarding address
